After doing my research I started shopping around for a magical piece of carbon. The Lims have great prices and excellent service. They helped me out and I did not feel any pressure unlike my experience at St. Vincent’s. I was able to save some money with the Lim’s and I got exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend The Lim’s.
I wholeheartedly recommend Lim’s.Here I was, all set to go to a major chain store, when a friend referred me to Lim’s, in the heart of the Jewelry District. I know next to nothing about diamonds. Everyone there was super nice to me and my fiancee. They even offered me a bottled water. Because it was hot and I was sweating profusely.I ended up getting a ring that the fiancee adores. I thought I’d pay out the wazoo, ended up paying significantly less. Barring the apocalypse, we’re going back for our wedding bands.Highest recommendation.
Bought my fiance’ her engagement ring and our wedding bands from Lim’s. Seeing the smile on her face was worth going to Lims alone. Not to mention the friendly pressure free service. After having a good experiences with the fullerton store, the choice was easy. Buy from 1 of the 2 Lim’s locations. Service exceeded expectations. Whats also good is I received a GIA certification with my purchase. GIA is one of the best certifications you can get for a diamond. The way it was explained to me was, it will tell you about the quality of the diamond. Jewelry is something I can NOT buy online. I just dont trust the internet / shipping service. I am lucky I live close to Lims, I hope they are around for a long time.
Located across the street from St. Vincent’s, in another one of the Jewelry District’s many jewelry centers, The Lim’s Jewelry Company is now my go-to place for jewelry. Why? Well, 1) I don’t know much about jewelry, 2) the family running the booth is very nice, and 3) the prices seem reasonable.Months ago, I, along with my then-fianc��’s best friend, ventured down there on a mission to find an engagement ring, first searching through St. Vincent’s with no luck, and then walking up Hill Street checking out the other jewelry centers.What’s a little harrowing about the jewelry mart is the sheer number of vendors hocking their wares. You’re threading your way through the gauntlet, passing by booths while checking out what they have to offer, and at the same time, trying not to make eye-contact with the booth owners sitting inside. I’ve always felt it was sort of like walking into the Mos Eisley cantina whenever I went to the jewelry mart.The last thing I wanted was some paunchy, balding man using some weird Middle Eastern Mind Trick on me: “My friend! Your fianc��, she like this ring, yeah? I give you bargain. You buy, ah??”No shank you… In fact, one vendor convinced me to leave him deposit to hold a ring, only to return from Lim’s and find out he already spent the money on something!! WTF?? It’s that kind of place, ladies and gents. Don’t be so hasty to part with your cash unless you’re gonna buy FOR SURE!!Now, the nice folks at the Lim’s Jewelry booth got me to part with my money. In addition to being nice, and seemingly trustworthy, I also chose an engagement ring after looking at only TWO rings. This, after telling them my price range and what I had in mind. It felt like serendipity.Now, I don’t know if the listed prices are marked up on purpose, but the lady there gave me a deal. The price seemed reasonable and the ring I chose was really nice. The ring also came with papers assuring the gem’s “pedigree”, or whatever it’s called.Now what I like about Lim’s, other than the fact they’re super-nice, is that they always remember me, and even more impressive, that they remember my wife’s tastes. We’ve gone back and bought our wedding bands there Body jewelry, and also a couple of other things and they’ve always been gracious. Now Pearl jewelry, whenever we need to get our jewelry cleaned and ring sizes adjusted, we simply park at one of the pay lots on Hill Street, just south of Seventh wholesale jewelry, and make a beeline for Lim’s, my safe haven in the Jewelry District.
I was referred to Lim’s by a coworker and ever since I went to them for an engagement ring, they’re my go-to jewelers. ?They provide quality products and service at reasonable prices. ?I’ve shopped around and found that Lim’s gives you the most (and best) for your money. ?They have something for every budget. ?They don’t pressure you into buying something and are very accommodating of your requests. ?The owners are very friendly and they’ve been around since 1982. ?Go to Lim’s. ?You’ll be glad you did.
The Lim’s are super-nice and helpful. ?I bought my wedding bands here and the prices are great. ?High quality and low price. ?What more could you ask for?! ?As happens with my type of ring (eternity band with small diamonds all the way around), a stone fell out. ?They fixed it for free and told me I could always bring it back if that ever happens. ?Don’t go anywhere else!
I went to Lims last year to buy ?an engament ring for my girlfriend. I was recommended there by a friend. I really don’t know much about diamonds so before visiting there I tried to get informed online. I found out about IGA, diamond cuts, clarity, colors etc. So I felt a bit more confident when I got there. ? The Lims showed me lot’s of diamonds and settings and also let me take my time and explained a great deal about each diamond I was looking at. They explained how different cuts reflect light and that one of the biggest factors in a good diamond is the cut. I finally decided on a 1carat round cut. It took less then 20mins to get my diamond set and meanwhile I enjoyed a great conversation with the Lims they are really really very nice people. I got my ring along with an EGL certificate that valued it at over “double” the price I paid for it. I also received a lovely gift bag and was informed that I could always come back if I ever decided to upgrade to a larger size and I would get the “full credit” I paid for my ring. ? I am definately a return customer. ? On a recent trip to the mall with my fiance I stopped by the Kays jeweler and found out that they don’t give you any kind of certification on your diamond. Also at Kays they offered me $3200 over what I paid for to buy my fiance’s ring and buy one from them. “No Thanks”

This place is located in the Fashion District. There are several other accessories store around, but this one is the cheapest! When I went pearl earrings, everything was 40-70% off. I bought really cute pins, 2 for $5, plus a green polka dot watch, and also a zebra one, for $7 each. Go here if you wanna load up on accessories, without feeling guilty! The selection is great and cheap.
I actually found this to be one of the more expensive places down Santee Alley, but of course “expensive” in Santee Alley means like $20 a pop for fake (or just NOT OF GREAT QUALITY AND AREN’T RARE GEMS is the better word) jewelry. The place is pretty huge though, with a large, organized selection. And yes, there are 60% off signs everywhere. So in the end, I guess you can definitely leave with a decent piece of fashion jewelry for under 10 bucks. Keep in mind none of this is real, its just to wear for fun on random days.

In 2005 my husband and I were en route to another jeweler on an upper floor of the building and for some reason we wound up on the floor that holds Mon Cheri.We took a look at what was on display and received answers to questions we asked. ?We still had to keep the appointment on the upper floor, so we went to the other diamond dealer where the diamonds were over priced and not ?of good quality. ?We came back to Mon Cheri.The quality and price was better. They weren’t pushy. ?They were helpful with style and setting ideas and guarantees on their product. Mon Cheri is where we purchased a 2.5 carat diamond plus a diamond loaded Cathedral setting and band which wound up being over 4 carats TW. ?Compared to Cartier or Tiffany – you cannot beat Mon Cheri deals – If you want that kind of quality.They also made me a setting for a diamond necklace that’s a one of a kind “stunner”.I have been buying diamonds wholesale for 25 years and I had bought diamonds at retail prices prior to that. ?If you do your homework (research and shop around, know the 4 C’s) you will know ?they want to do business and they will be competitive to that end. ?Period. ?They have varied price ranges. ?It depends on what you want, what you can afford and what you’re willing to spend.I would recommend this jeweler. ?I am still doing business with them. ?They’re legit. ?I will recommend that my children buy their diamonds from Mon Cheri too.
The staff here is wonderful and not pushy at all. It’s very comforting being able to shop for jewelry without the hard sell that is all too common in many stores. It certainly helps that the store is in one of the high rises keeping you from the fray of St Vincent shops. I have purchased many items from this location: wedding sets, diamond pendants, eternity bands and more and I can’t be happier with the results.They are also very receptive to custom work, have on site repairs and will work within your budget. More than anything the lack of pressure really makes this a fantastic place to buy jewelry.
This place is terrible. ?They advertise all these stones that they “can get you” but in order to do so they need a deposit before they can let you see these stones that they have “readily available.” ?At that point, might as well buy your diamond online. The worst part about it is that they’re expensive too. ? This place is a bait and switch operation.I’ve been to at least 20 stores till I found the best deals with great craftsmanship on a custom ring I designed. ?I’m extremely attentive to details as I design / manufacture furniture. ?I ended up registering as a diamond dealer and sourcing my own stones, cheaper than ALL of them. ?Go to Icing on the Ring, I’ve already bought 4 rings from them for diamonds I’ve sourced on my own.
Horrible place. A buddy dragged me there for a wedding ring. They sold me a diamond that had been broken and glued back together. They called it a flaw. I’ll say. ?Luckily my insurance was awesome and they fixed what these thieves sold to me.
My fiance and I went to Mon Cheri on a whim without an apointment. The staff were very welcoming pearl earrings, despite the fact that we came in about 30 minutes before the closing time. Magda and Natasha spent an hour with us helping us decide on what style worked best with my engagement ring. I tried on dozens of rings and, as mentioned in a review above, I did not feel any pressure to purchase anything. Magda and Natasha helped me chose the perfect band and gave us a great deal. I am so glad that we found them amongst all of the jewelers downtown and I feel that we got the best so much more for our money. I am completely satisfied with my experience with Mon Cheri Diamonds and have already referred a girlfriend to their store to pick out her ring!
This was the first location we stoped @ while shopping for a new band. ?I fell in love with a beautiful 3 carat band that was out of our price range. ? We walked away with their card, total carat weight and style. ?After walking around for a few hours and looking at very similar style bands we ended up back @ Mon cheri. The diamonds were of much higher quality and just beautiful. ?They must have seen the look on my face because they offered us an additional $200 off the original discounted price. ?You can walk around many of the other ‘marts’ but for quality stones and great customer service i def recommend Mon Cheri!
In my opinion, the biggest testament to the quality of a business is the amount of word of mouth referrals it gets. I was referred to Mon Cheri by my brother-in-law, who purchased my sister’s engagement ring there. I then purchased my wife’s engagement ring there as well. Without even asking my wife what kind of ring she wanted (in retrospect, a really risky move on my part), with the help and recommendations of the Mon Cheri staff, I purchased a beautiful cushion cut ring that my wife absolutely loves. I have since referred several of my friends to Mon Cheri. My point person was Vicki, who I understand is now semi-retired from the biz… but I hear the other staff members at Mon Cheri are just as affable and knowledgeable and will help you work within your budget. Mon Cheri is also a great place to purchase non-wedding related jewelry wholesale beads, such as the necklace I purchased for my mother on her birthday. Definitely the place to go to find a great deal on precious stones without sacrificing the quality.

It’s best to shop here in the AM. Everything’s in its place and the sales rack are ridiculously kept neat and tidy. In fact Pandora beads, they separated the S-M sizes from the L-XL sizes. There’s nothing like the joy of finding your size on sale at BR.Staff is really friendly–in a way that seems genuine. They maintain the store so well that it’s definitely the best BR store I’ve been in terms of lay out, clearance section variety, and staff.
Generally clean and well staffed. The petites section is nice and roomy. The clearance section can be a mess – but whose isn’t. The best way to shop Banana is to get a credit card – get the deals via email and postcard. Then couple those with the clearance rack. Never had a problem with snooty service.
I’d been going to this store for years now and never had problems especially with the sales associates. ?I went in the store 2 days in a row before christmas and i got the best deals. ?One of the sales associates named Sam has been very cordial and helpful with everything I need which made it less stressful in this time of the year.
Solid Banana Republic store. ?The store is clean and always well maintained. ?There is always a good selection of sizes and selections…. more so than some of the higher trafficled locations. ?The staff has always been helpful and pleasant whenever I’ve shopped. ?If you get a banana card you get email blasts and snail mail of the various and constant coupons they have. ?I’ve been impressed with the constant barage of Xmas sale coupons this season.
Recieved the worst customer service at this location. ?As I walked around i was passed by the same male associate 3 times and was never ?greeted. ?Two other associates who were folding clothes never spoke to me either as i walked the entire store. ?They did however speak to a lady with her arms full of merchandise. ?I finally asked the first guy about a sweater hanging in the window. I wanted to know where it was in the store and he said oh we just sold out. I then asked if he could look up the name off the one in the window and he said no. ?This isnt a hard task and if they cared about the customer they would be a little helpful. ?I will never shop this location again. ?I will always drive out of my way to go to Pasadena.
Horrible management & return policy!!!! I was trying to return something with a receipt and the manager straight out accused me of having the shirt worn and washed. Another time… I tried to return a gift i had received and they would not give me store credit. Had to call corporate office. Rude manager!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m downgrading my June 2010 review. ?Sales prices ARE NOT that cheap anymore. ?It’s called a sale rack for a reason you morons, $10 off an overpriced 79.00 sweater is NOT A bargain or a sale.The snooty asian who was here last night was a tad condescending despite his phony “hello”. ?He looked at me like I should have been shopping at J.C. Penny for a grandfather polo & golf shorts! ?Eat %$#* cuz I ain’t a daddy or a grandpa you little fart. Kind of a letdown considering my previous experiences here. ?Just because I’m an old bitch doesn’t mean I can’t dress snazzy.
The prices were bananas at Banana Republic over the 4th of July weekend. ?This was one of the best deals I’ve received in a long time. ?The special was to take 40% off the lowest ticket price. ?As I perused through the pants selection, I came across a nice pair of linen pants made by BR’s high-end line, known as Heritage. ?The price tag on these pants stated $19.99. ?After finding my size, I made a quick dash to the fitting room and the pants fitted nicely. ?Much to my surprise, when I went to pay for these pants, the cashier told me the pants were $71 after the 40% discount. ?I responded that there must be a mistake, as the price is only $19.99. ?This associate, Carmen, was so pleasant and nice. ?She politely told me the pants were marked down to $119.99 from the original price of $180.00. ?I told her I’ll go get the pants that had the price tag of $19.99. ?When I returned, Carmen did a search in her computer, then consulted with her manager and returned to me to say, “we’ll honor the price of $19.99″. ?So, after the 40% discount, I only paid a little over $13.00 with tax!The staff at this BR location was very pleasant and professional. ?Easily, Carmen could’ve stated there was a pricing mistake and fought to not honor that price. ?However, she was very polite, kind, and professional. ?I highly appreciate her attitude and courtesy, along with that of her colleagues. ?This store is sizable, full of deals and, apparently, good employees. ?I may have to go back and let them see how good my new pants look and fit!
I like BR’s clothes, but the workers at this location are the biggest snobs in the minimum wage world. I think I’ve been greeted twice in 5 years of coming here. I would expect more courtesy from a “higher end” GAP but I guess that’s too much to ask from these budding fashionistas.I guess I can try to give an objective review but it is so annoying to feel like you’re bothering someone when you ask for assistance. IF you work at the mall, you work at the mall. From Hugo boss to Hotdog on a stick. If your place of employment is located inside of a mall then you should never hold your nose up at anyone. So plz, people that work at this location, and I’m sure their are good ones here, treat everyone with the same unenthusiastic service or get a job that justifies your attitude.

I had a mission, I was looking for a fitted black suit. ?I actually did find a suit jacket and some slacks- but it wasn’t easy.I was carrying around a load of clothes, a very heavy load of clothes, and none of the sales staff approached me to start a fitting room, I had to go approach them. ?Then, while I was trying things on, some of the fitted pants were just a bit tight, so I asked for a larger size. ?(To the sales staff’s credit, once I was in the dressing room I was checked on, and offered service, which was great.) ?It turns out that Banana Republic doesn’t carry size 16 in the store. ?That’s really inconvenient. ?There’s one pair of pants that I tried on in a 14 that I *might* go purchase online- but I really prefer to try things on in person before purchasing.Perhaps it’s because I’m used to being a much smaller size and have only put on weight in the past few years due to a stressful job that I’m surprised that a store doesn’t carry my size.
I used to love this place. Went in last weekend and had the rudest associate ever. Just tried to buy a sweater (they claimed to have in stock) and after waiting ten minutes the clerk came back, giggled, told me they didn’t have it and before I could ask and she should have offer to check another store, she was off helping another customer. I left, called the manager to complain and felt she could care less. If you need to shop Banana Republic, and I won’t again, go to Pasadena or Sherman Oaks. The Galleria is the worst and the Banana Republic is no better. Trust me, stay far away.

Yes. *High, SQUEALY, Cracking Voice* Roger Sterling’s in the window, with a TOTAL JBF look on his face. I really need to go digging through this BR’s garbage once this whole Madmen campaign is OVER! This BR has always been nice, I max my credit card out here. Classy and alluring, not Klassy and sluttish, sweaters and skirts, and pretty jewelry. Customer service is attentive and great, and store is all around good for a mall with a Target that smells like pee. ?A jewel in the Galleria Crown. ?-1 star for a small sale section, which gets messy really quick.

I see that some reviewers have had problems with the customer service at this location, but every time I have been in the staff have been phenomenal. Once I was picking out a dress for a wedding and one of the ladies who worked there took the last “small” off of a mannequin for me. The next time I was looking for a gift for my sister and again Glass beads, everyone was very helpful. The last time I was in I tried on about a dozen outfits looking for something to wear on vacation and again the staff was on top of everything, letting me know what was on sale, getting sizes and taking things to the fitting room for me. Each time I left very pleased with my purchase and blown away by how great my experience was. Maybe I’ve just been lucky and I’ve been getting the “A-team” every time I’ve come in. I’m not sure, but it’s been great.
Ok ladies.I’m going to let you in on the best goddamn kept secret in, like Costume jewelry, the whole wide world.Say what you will about the ubiquitousness of Banana Republic and their mass appeal. But I absolutely guarantee every hipster girl, designer diva, and working woman alike that perusing the sale bins of Banana Republic ?jewelry will create a Whole New You.Unless it was passed down from my grandmother, I do not own a piece of jewelry that didn’t come from good ol’ BR. And I get more compliments on my sparkly accessories than you can shake a bangle at.I’ve finally learned, over time, not to say, “Oh thanks! I got it at Banana Republic for $7.99!” Now I just serenely accept that the sale bins at BR are hot shit, and I’ve figured out how to reap the benefits.
The sales associates were unhelpful and curt. No greeting upon entering the store (it was Monday at 7pm, so not too busy), and when we asked “do you have any pants that go with this suit jacket), the guy just directed us back to the same rack and said rather coldly, “whatever you see there is what we have.” Now that might be acceptable for Ross or Marshall’s, or even a BR outlet, but here, he should at least go over and look, or offer to order it! The suit + pants would be at least a $150 sale, and the guy can’t even be bothered to go over and look, or at least pretend to be helpful.Oh, and there was this weird smell in the store; it smelled like capers.
this is one of my favorite stores. their clothes are real simple, chic, classic at the same time and of great quality. the pricesa re a bit much to stomach sometimes but there isn’t anything like the feel of merino wool againt your skin in the morning when all yo uwant to do is cuddle back up into your bed but you’re forced to go to work. this is 2nd best. the associates there are usually very polite and helpful. they will assist you with alterations if necessary and can order items on line for you as well. returns aren’t a problem here. another thing i love, their dressing rooms. they are always clean and are always being monitored by helpful associates. awesome!
