Showing off the beads: Eye Loops
I loved these red faceted beads so much I really wanted to highlight them. But stringing them all by themselves didn’t seem very special, so I used this really simple technique that sets each bead apart to really shine. Each bead is threaded on to a wire, and then the wire is bent around to make a loop linking it to the next bead. It’s super easy, and eliminates the need for any other findings besides the clasp. Along with using it to make the whole necklace, you can also use this technique to incorporate beads and chain. Here I interrupted the chain with those silver beads by making loops on each end to link in place. I made the pendant in the same basic way, just using a head pin instead of wire. One end is flat so the bead can rest on it while the other end secures it to the necklace. I was watching TV while I was working on this, and I saw an actress wearing a necklace I really liked. So I made it right then. Just a few simple beads staggered out among a couple strands of chain.

DIY Hanging Beaded Hair ClipsMaeg-it Yourself
Image source & originally found at Ladybirds Nest These multi-color strands of seed beads bring back fond memories of the early 90′s: Catholic School uniforms with simple little single strands around our necks, oxford shirts unbuttoned to show our bodysuits or camisoles beneath oh the 90′s. I was written up & served many an afternoon or Saturday at detention in high school some for talking in class but most were for uniform violations. You can imagine why :) * Multicolored seed beads * Snap clip or barrette } * Needle your beads fit through and thread * Scissors * Double thread your needle & knot at the end. } * Thread your beads onto your needle. * When you’ve determined how long you want it, stop and knot the other end. Cut the excess thread. * Open clip and slide beaded strand through. The snap clips will be the easiest to keep your strands in place so there is no need to glue or stitch to the clip unless you want to.

J Crew-Inspired Threaded Necklace (with rosette)!
Do this all the way down the length of chain until you get about 6 inches from the other end. Pull the thread tight, so there is no gaps in the thread. Then make a knot at the other end of the necklace. I also put a dab of super glue on each knot to make sure it was secure. Now you can attach your clasp, or if the necklace is long enough to fit over your head, just attach the links at each end together! Now you make your rosette (optional) I have a rosette tutorial you can reference if you want. Cut a length of fabric. 1 inch wide by about 24-30 inches in length, depending on how big you want your rosette to be. Fold the fabric in half, width-wise and make a knot. Then roll the fabric and glue it with fabric glue as you roll, in a circular motion. You can also thread some beads on the rosette to match the beads on your necklace is you want, at this point. Once you have the rosette finished, glue it onto a piece of felt.

Trisha Too: Super Simple Bookbinding
Stuff you will need: paper for the pages–plain, colored, or various papers such as: security papers (from envelopes), handmade papers, sheet music, ledger paper, pages from books, vellum, patterned papers heavy weight cardstock for cover–I usually collage mine first ruler pencil punch tooleither a fancy Japanese screw punch or the type with a needle like tip. If you do not have a punch tool, they are very inexpensive, or you can make your own using a sturdy tapestry/darning needle with the eye end shoved into the end of a large cork. 2 or 3 book binding clips–those big black clips with the silver flippy sides, available in most office supply sections of stores, or (where else?) any office supply store scissors some type of “thread“–waxed linen thread, beading thread, embroidery floss, or

DIY Recycled T-Shirt Cuff
1. You need some old cotton jersey t-shirts, old broken necklaces and/earrings, scissors, plyiers, wire cutters, thread and needle. 2. Cut the bottom of your ti-shirts horozontally. You don’t need the very bottom seem. 3. Once you are done cutting your pieces pull them tight and this will cause your t-shirts to *curl* and make t-shirt yarn. 4. Cut the clasps and ends off of your necklaces removing the charms. You’ll want the chain all by itself. 5. You need six strands of t-shirt yarn and two or three pieces of long chain. On a clip board or taped to a table layer your pieces. Two pieces on top of each-other side by side, including one piece of chain with each bundle. You’ll have three bundles with two pieces of t-shirt yarn and one chain in eacy. 6. You’ll start a weave pattern with your t-shirt yarn and chain. Be sure alternate each strand, crisscrossing as you pull each piece through. 7. When you reach your desired length. Take a needle and thread. I used clear beading thread.

Bubble Necklaces
I can’t even begin to go into the weekend we had over here. We had packed it with holiday shopping and events. Events were canceled and other things were scheduled to discuss why events were canceled. Those reasons became a huge drama regarding a place that is very important to our family, the comic book shop. I know it must sound silly, but we’ve gone once a week since before we had kids and they’ve been every week since they were in utero. I don’t want to go into details since they are generally second hand and you’d have no idea what I was talking about anyhow, but the point is weekend…not as planned. I did get some tatting done is small spurts over the weekend. I decided to make use of the large amount of big glass beads that had been included in one of my fire mountain grab bags. I started with the blue ones as I had the most of them. This gave me the first real excuse to try out tatting with beads where the thread is brought through the bead and not around.

Jelly Roll Floor Pillows
I used the right side of the zipper foot this time, moving my needle all the way to the right. 37. Now the fun part.time to make your covered buttons! For each pillow you will need two buttons. I used Dritz Cover Button Kit (size 1 ?) which was the largest button I could find at Joann Fabrics. 38. These are super simple to make. Especially the large buttons. Just follow the instructions on the back of the kit. The kit has everything you need in it to make the button (other than the fabric that you want to add to it). You can make some seriously cute buttons with Sherbet Pips!!! 39. Taking the largest needle you have, I used a Darning needle (but I am sure there are larger ones out there that I don’t know about), thread it with strong beading thread or fishing wire. I originally tried it with regular polyester thread, but it broke when I pulled the thread tight. 40. Attach your thread to the button that you want on the front of the pillow.

Felt Balls Ring
On such a grey and rainy day this little ring is the most colour in the room. Yesterday I had my special collection of felt balls out and I just love working with them. I get them from Odile who recycles wool sweaters for all her felt pieces. At some point during the day I opened a drawer and this unfinished ring came to my attention. It was a sign that I needed to do something with it. I think the best part of designing something new is the time you spend playing with ideas. At first I thought I wanted to make a real Christmassy ring..reds and greens But in the bag Odile had originally sent me was this little white rose. I have never figured out where to use until today. I used a needle and beading thread to attach everything to the ring base. Everything looks like it is floating. This is such an easy project if you have everything already in your stash. I think it took me ten minutes to sew it and much longer to photograph it
